Diorella Lopez-Gonzalez, M.D., joined the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine as an Assistant Professor in 2023. Originally from Caguas, Puerto Rico, Dr. Lopez-Gonzalez received her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Health Sciences, St. Kitts, in 2019. She completed family medicine residency training at UAMS, Little Rock, where she served as Chief Resident (2022-2023) and Community Medicine Liaison (2021-2022). Dr. Lopez-Gonzalez is certified with the American Board of Family Medicine. Outside of work, Dr. Lopez-Gonzalez enjoys cooking, baking, reading, and studying art and history. She also enjoys trying new restaurants with her husband and traveling with her family, particularly visiting museums.

Dr. Geeta Sakariya comes to UAMS from Fargo, N.D. She is a graduate of Government Medical College in Surat, Gujarat, India. She received her Master of Public Health in Community Health Education from California State University in Long Beach, Calif. From here, she moved to Bismarck, N.D., to complete her Family Medicine Residency. Her most recent employment is as a family medicine physician at the Morehead Clinic in Minnesota. She is now practicing in the Family Medical Clinic at UAMS.

Dr. Lauren E. Gibson-Oliver is a family medicine physician at Family Medical Center in Little Rock employed by UAMS Health.

Dr. King is a hospitalist for the Family Medicine service. He graduated from UAMS in 1984 and completed his postgraduate training at Family Medicine Spokane (Washington). He was in private practice for 15 years in Spokane and later worked urgent care and emergency medicine before moving to hospital medicine. He was previously employed by UAMS in El Dorado at the AHEC (now Regional Programs) residency as interim residency director where he led the program through successful accreditation. Throughout his career, he has been involved in medical education at various levels, and he loves teaching. One of his most fulfilling medical endeavors was working in a refugee camp in Ethiopia during the famine of 1985. Dr. King is happily married to...
